Mayan people were not a violent people, but unfortunately, they were very small and fragile people. About 200 years after the foundation of this town, it was abandoned.

Almost 2000 years later, in 1970 the Mexican government decided to re-found the city, to give order to all the international tourism the island was getting. The name of Kahan-kun, becomes to a Spanish word Cancún.

Cancun is a natural island, in the densest tropical jungle of the Caribbean zone; among of plenty ancient Mayan cities in ruins. It is also facing the world's second largest coral reef, named the world's best place to swim and dive. Surrounded by hundreds of cenotes, it is among the world's largest chain of underground rivers where you can dive trough or swim.
